Dragon Hunters is an animated movie that came out in 2008, featuring the voice talents of Forest Whitaker and Rob Paulson.

What baffles me the most about this movie is that I had never heard of it until I saw it on Netflix. Which amazes me, because I love fantasy epics. I love animation and I have worshipped dragons ever since I was a wee little lad.

It actually was a fairly good movie. As usual with me, I recommend watching not because I enjoyed it but because it was a unique movie experience and you should form your opinion of it instead of listening to a fool like me.

The Good: I absolutely LOVED the world this movie took place in. Floating castles and land masses everywhere. Dragons, but not the typical type, lived in multitudes there and there was a spunky young girl that tagged along with the "Dragon Hunters" throughout the movie. Perhaps I liked her so much because she reminded me so much of my own Hunter. Smart and sassy and neverending sound coming out of her mouth.
The environment that the animators created for this movie was absolutely fantastic. I would have enjoyed this movie, regardless of how well it was made, based on the world that the animators created. A very, unique, beautiful and awe inspiring landscape.

The Bad: I thought the story was quite thin and the characters could have been fleshed quite a bit more. The plot and storyline seem forced on the characters and not fluid at all. Like trying to force a square peg in a round hole. It's a good thing the movie was so beautiful and it had dragons in it or I might not have made it all the way through it.

Overall, it was a good movie. If just for the viewing experience alone. The world and the creatures that lived in it was fantastic and the movie would have been better had they taken half as much time to render the story as they did the environment.
