The Amazing Screw-On Head 10 Months, 2 Weeks ago
This is just a 22 minute short cartoon based on some of Mike Mignola's ideas. It follows the exploits of America's top spy during Lincoln's presidency. A man who is nothing more than a screw on head, with interchangeable bodies.

It was enjoyable in the sense that it was fun to see Mignola style art animated. The humor that was sprinked throughout was quite nice. The brother from Fraser was the voice of The Amazing Screw On Head and his voice acting fit the character to a T.

The problems I had with it is it tried to cram his background, plus an entire story into a small 22 minute feature. That translates well sometimes in comic books because you can get away with bits of prose that "pause" the story a bit. But I don't think it translated well into the feature. Everything seemed forced and packed into a small space and therefore it was hard to enjoy the subtleties of the characters and the story because you were moving on to the next segment before you could fully digest what you just saw.

Despite this. I still think I would recomend it to fans of Mignola as it has all his classic elements of Lovecraftian beasties and witty and strange heroes that don't fit into any typecast.

Let me know if any of you have seen it and have differing views.

I have heard of this- I think it aired on sci-fi during one of my windows of steering clear from all teevees. I thought there were more than just the one ep though, mayber 4 or 5?
I remember hearing about the voice cast too, the Paul Giamatti (sp?) guy from American Splendor, and Molly Shannon.
This totally seems like my kinda thing.

Would you compare it to the Wild, Wild West? Was it all-ages, or more for the smart kids like us?

Definitely more for the elitist genius class that we represent.

Actually, I'm not sure if your average kid would enjoy it. It did seem a bit too cerebral for the "average" kid. Does that sound bad when I say that?
