What makes him look old? the shadowing? or the neck definition?

how old is he supposed to be?

I tried to go for teens/20's? Guestimated from the strip, guess I should have asked for a character bio first.

Just the proportions. I don't see this kid as being older than 8. I see him as younger than Newt and here he looks to be about the same age age as I picture Newt. But, it's a beautiful piece of art.

a, yeah. I definitely should have asked.. wouldn't have guessed that young *lol*

I dont thing he looks older then 8. Its the lines that can be taken wrong. We in our minds automatically associate lines in art with age. Hence the lack of line detail in womens faces and children. I think he looks fine and young

Let me say again, Freddy, that the sketch looks fantastic. The amazing thing about it is it tells a completely different story to me. I guess that's why I'm so eager to see another artist's take on my work. Because it's almost like looking another alternate reality version of that character.

I really can't wait until we can get some more traffic and some fan art from some of our stuff. Also, that Breast Cancer issue we have planned in October should be pretty awesome. I can't wait to see some of the stuff we have lined up.

But back to what I said. Thanks a LOT for choosing my piece first. I really like the fact that you tackled the character you seemed to find the most challenging first.
